Caroline Santa‘s colorful and intimate mixed media constructions and works on paper, will be exhibited in the Goodyear Gallery October 15-November 2. There will be a reception for the artist and discussion of her work Thursday, Oct. 17, 5-7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Graffiti Collaboration Project

Artist and Professor of Studio Art at Penn State Harrisburg, Paul Manlove, will be painting the public art wall with student collaborators. Behind the Goodyear Building in front of the Goodyear Gallery. All are welcome to attend.

Dickinson responded to the mural with an article, that included commentary from students and faculty, besides a slideshow and video. Check it out!

April 16 | Reception and Gallery Talk: Common Contexts

Artists: Rena Leinberger and Juanli Carrion.

This exhibition showcases works created collaboratively by public-project and installation artists Rena Leinberger and Juanli Carrion during a month long residency at Dickinson (March 18-April 21). It is not a traditional exhibition. The Goodyear Gallery functions as a laboratory and incubator for conceptual installations and ongoing conversation about art in public space, and the work created on site may remain long after the artists have concluded their residency

April 18 | Event: Common Contexts

This event marks the close of the artist’s five-week artist residency at Dickinson.  During this period they worked closely with students to make collaborative visual responses that sought out a Common Context between the participants, the college and larger Carlisle community.  Supporting documentation and art objects are on display in the Goodyear Gallery through May 3rd.  This event is free and open to the general public.

Blacksmith/sculptor Ellen Durkan creates fantastical two- and three-dimensional wearable constructions for women out of semiprecious metals, steel and a variety of ordinary materials. This exhibition includes her conceptual designs and final pieces—and all of the spaces between them. Learn more about this event.

Nocturnes: Black & White Photographs by Carl Sanders Socolow ’77

College Photographer Carl Socolow will exhibit his latest collection of black and white photographs: images captured at night in cities around the world. Socolow states, “They are garlands of stories strung together from glimpses and glances of everyday life, of things as they are. The pictures are isolated moments, that are character sketches, they are specific instants entwined and held suspended.”

The exhibition will be open through November 19.
